Safeguarding Policy

Crosby Cabz carries children on contracted school runs and passengers who may be vulnerable for many reasons — age, disability, health or circumstance. Every one of them has the right to travel safely and be treated with respect. Safeguarding is not one person's job: every driver and every member of office staff is responsible for it.

• Every driver holds a current licence from North Lincolnshire Council, which includes an enhanced DBS (criminal record) check.
• The office keeps records of every driver's licence and its expiry — a driver whose licence lapses does not work.
• School-run drivers are consistent wherever possible, so schools, parents and children see a familiar face.

• Drivers follow the booked route with no unauthorised stops or detours.
• Seatbelts are required on every journey; appropriate child restraints are used where needed.
• Drivers never make personal contact with a child outside the journey — all communication goes through the office and the parent, guardian or school.
• Every journey is tracked: the office can see each vehicle's live location, and every booking is recorded.
• Drivers report anything unusual on a school run to the office straight away — a child not at the pickup, an unfamiliar adult collecting, anything that feels wrong.

Concerns go to our designated safeguarding lead, who will act on them promptly — including reporting to North Lincolnshire Council's safeguarding team or the police where appropriate.

Information about children on school runs is handled under our Privacy Policy — we collect only what the journey needs, and it is visible only to office staff and the assigned licensed driver.
